Dustin E. Smith MSW, LISW
I am Licensed Independent Social Worker who has been practicing in the greater Toledo Area for the past 13 years. Earning my Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Toledo and my Masters in Social Work from the University of Eastern Michigan in Social Work.I have had the privilege of serving various individuals in an office based and community based setting helping them find purpose and meaning in a way that is evidenced based and culturaly sensitive.
I have worked with youth as well as adolescence navigating life challenges and transitions as well as changes within the family. I have a passion for walking alongside in their journey finding hope, meaning, and resilience. While partnering with parents/caregivers in the process helping their children find what success looks like for them as individual. I have a background in working with youth in foster care as well as youth post adoption.
I have experience in working with adults with mental health concerns and addiction. In individual therapy as well as group therapy setting. Supporting them as they walk down a path of healing and restoration. In exploration of current strengths and ones they would like to develop along the way as they take steps towards a brighter tomorrow.
My approach is one that is supportive, empathic, trauma informed and culturally sensitive to meet the uniqueness of each individual. I engage a trauma informed approach with integration of cognitive behavioral therapy, and willing to provide biblical integration upon request.
